Pakistani Artist Wins Hearts With His Upcoming Video Game: Wrong Way
UPDATE: Some people claimed that he used pre-made template from Udemy. and the work wasn't his own. Upon speaking with him, he claimed that this wasn't entirely true.
Pakistani music artist, Baran Haider, recently published a short film, trailer for his upcoming video game, Wrong Way. The animation involves a supercar on a highway bridge, speeding and drifting. A racing group named "FIGHTERS", supposedly wanted by the authorities in Pakistan.
Baran Haider is a music artist from Pakistan who has always had a dream of working solo without needing anyone else's help. His work mostly involves music creation and songwriting, but his love for gaming, and Hollywood action films, is what gave him the idea to represent Pakistan in his work. The interesting part about this is that he did all of it solo. He said in his post:
"Everything has been done by me from game development to animation, vfx sound etc".
The idea was initiated in May of 2021 (during the month of Ramzan). He initially thought about making a short film on which he spend 3 months to finish the trailer, working hard and alone on the whole project. He said in a conversation:
"My vision was to make a short film, then during production, I started making a video game on this script, This will be the main intro of the game."
His current plans are to work on a full-length movie. This is according to him, his decision after the response he got on his trailer which he posted in the largest PC gaming community of Pakistan, Pakistani PC Gamers (better known as PPG), on Facebook. This will obviously be done by himself without anyone working with him, at least not officially as of yet. Moreover, this will make the process harder and more time-consuming, so this could take anywhere from 6 months to a year, maybe even more.
Apart from the movie, his plans for the video game are not finalized yet. He confirmed that he will be working on the game, but for now his focus is on the film that he's planning to make. Although he did share some gameplay of his video game called Wrong Way. He showed the demo being played on a smartphone. The footage showed him driving a car on the same highway bridge that was shown in the trailer.
Upon asking, he told me that he prepared the animation and gameplay that he posted a while back, using Blender and Unreal Engine. These are very popular software in the 3D world. It has been his dream to make animations that look realistic, and have a premium quality in terms of sound design, editing, and VFX. And personally, I think he was successful in doing just that. The animation on his trailer for Wrong Way, was stunning and beautiful. The sound design was flawless and the color was perfectly balanced, showing a lot of talent and prior experience. I wish him good luck in the future of his career. Very interested to see what he comes up with next!
Speaking of which, his latest work, including the trailer of Wrong Way, can be seen on his YouTube channel called BaranHaider Music. This is where he posts his music mainly, but has other future plans too.
