Airlink To Team Up With Xiaomi To Bring The XU7 EV Assembly to Pakistan
Airlink Communications is teaming up with Xiaomi to bring the affordable SU7 electric sports car to Pakistan, marking a new chapter for Airlink, which has mainly focused on mobile phones and electronics. The SU7 promises a sleek and powerful EV option, making luxury and sustainability more accessible.
What’s exciting is that this car isn’t just for the local market. There are plans of potentially exporting the SU7 to other countries. Airlink’s move into electric vehicles is part of a broader strategy to diversify its business, which also includes smart TVs and exploring 5G opportunities.
As for pricing, the base variant of SU7 currently costs ¥215,900, which is approximately PKR 8,500,000 (85 lakhs), while the SU7 Max is priced at ¥299,900 (approx. 11,800,000 PKR). If priced right, this could potentially have a big impact on the existing market of cars in this under-1-crore price range.
This collaboration highlights the increasing role Pakistan is playing in the global tech and auto industries. By assembling the Xiaomi SU7 locally, Airlink is helping to grow the EV market in Pakistan and beyond, offering drivers a stylish and eco-friendly alternative to traditional cars.
This shift into electric cars reflects a broader global trend toward clean energy and reduced emissions, and it signals that Pakistan is ready to embrace that future.
